Charger plate, A Toute Epreuve by Joan Miro - Bernardaud
Joan Miró was born in Barcelona in 1893 and was one of the key figures of the 20th-century avant-garde. His innovative use of lines, colors, and natural shapes is seen as the fundamental principle of surrealist art, which means creating works that unleash the creative potential of the subconscious.
Successió Miró (an entity formed by Joan Miró's heirs that manages the rights to Joan Miró's works) aimed to make the artist's work accessible in unexpected ways - which led them to approach Maison BERNARDAUD.
This is howa‚¬toute epreuve, a collection based on the original works of the book of the same name, written by poet Paul Éluard and illustrated by Joan Miró, came to be. Here, all of Miró's pictorial language is found, which he reinvents each time in his paintings, ceramics, and engravings.
"A book must be made with the accuracy and precision of a clock mechanism," Joan Miró told publisher Gerald Cramer in 1949. Thus, it took 11 years for this book - a‚¬ toute epreuve, to be released, long after the death of poet Paul Éluard.
The presentation platea‚¬toute epreuve by Joan Miró is an inspired gift for art lovers.
