Glass carafe, Cactus by Urge - ICHENDORF
Born in Bologna in 1981, Urge fell in love with product design during his studies in architecture at the University of Ferrara and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen. The artist prefers cycling and sometimes hang gliding. After many awards, he established his own studio in 2014.
Created through the collaboration between Alessandra Baldereschi and Ichendorf, the Cactus collection features items shaped like this intriguing plant. The handles of the pieces maintain the plant's form, creating a guaranteed graphic effect.
Filled with lemonade, natural juice, or various other beverages, the Cactus carafe adds style and originality to every table. Its transparent glass handle, shaped like a tube, fills simultaneously with the body of the container, giving the carafe a unique style.
The Cactus glass pieces offer a surprising touch to every table. They are handcrafted from borosilicate glass—the transparency and lightness of this material confer elegance.
Thanks to special craftsmanship, Ichendorf pieces withstand temperature fluctuations and have a low expansion coefficient, ensuring longevity and durability.
Hand washing with a soft sponge is recommended (do not use a steel sponge). For manual washing and drying, proper handling of the glass is necessary, holding it by the bowl. It is important to avoid twisting the stem of the glass.
For dishwasher cleaning, low temperatures are recommended (max. 104°F).
Ichendorf
Today, just as 100 years ago, Ichendorf's goal is the pursuit of beauty with authentic forms.
Ichendorf's history began in the early years of the 20th century in a small town near Cologne, called Quadrath-Ichendorf. There, many master glassmakers used a mixture of substances to shape objects capable of meeting the refined tastes of that era.
The endless search for new, popular, and exclusive appearances leads to the creation of objects with modern design. In 1990, the Ichendorf style center was established in Milan, a creative convergence point for artists and designers.
The materials used range from ceramics, introduced in 2019, to traditional glass, crystal, and borosilicate glass.
The new collections are created by blending tradition and innovation, presenting objects that enter homes with delicacy, elegance, and brilliance, finding a very suitable place in every space.
