The porcelain vessel is adorned with the signature swirling Cosmati designs.

All Max Benjamin candles are hand-poured at their workshop in County Wicklow, Ireland. Each candle takes approximately 7 hours to craft.

Wick

The braided wick is made from 100% Italian cotton and contains no lead, ensuring a clean, smoke-free burn. Each wick is manually centered inside the vessel to optimize wax burning.

Wax

100% natural soy wax – PARAFFIN FREE

The wax blend used in Max Benjamin candles is sourced entirely from natural ingredients—soy and other reusable plant-based waxes. It’s biodegradable, eco-friendly, and free from animal-derived substances. This wax burns slower and cleaner than paraffin, producing no soot. Due to the plant-based nature of the wax, texture and fragrance may vary naturally. The wax is blended with essential oils at a controlled temperature for even fragrance diffusion. Do not burn for more than 2–3 hours at a time—the melted wax continues to release scent even after the flame is extinguished.

Manufacturing Process

About 75% of the wax is poured initially and allowed to cool. Any air bubbles or gaps are smoothed by hand. Then, an additional 1 cm of wax is poured, and the candle is cooled again before packaging.

About the Brand

Max Benjamin is a family-owned company run by siblings Orla, Mark, and David Van den Bergh in Enniskerry, County Wicklow. Named after Orla’s twin sons, Max and Ben, the brand has been creating hand-poured natural candles since the 1990s. Known for their contemporary design and dedication to quality, Max Benjamin fragrances are loved worldwide.

Orla Van den Bergh learned the art of candle making in the U.S., where she discovered the nuances of crafting high-quality candles. Upon returning to Ireland, she applied this expertise to develop refined candles that quickly gained popularity—thus, the story of Max Benjamin began.

• For even burning, allow wax to reach the edge of the container before extinguishing.
• Do not touch the glass while the candle is lit. Burn no longer than 2–3 hours at a time.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended.

• Do not move the candle while it is burning.
