The Latin Grooves porcelain holder is inspired by the pavement art of two of the world’s most beloved Latin port cities: Rio de Janeiro and Lisbon. Top notes are intense like the ocean breeze, with light citrus heart notes and a soft woody base.

Top notes: Fresh citrus – Mandarin, Orange, Lemon.

Heart notes: Marine, Cardamom, Pepper.

Base notes: Musk, Amber, Cedarwood.

Burn time: Minimum 60 hours

Max Benjamin candles and fragrance oils make the perfect gift for a loved one, for pampering yourself, or simply for a relaxing moment.

All Max Benjamin candles are hand-poured at the production facility in Co. Wicklow, Ireland. Each candle takes approximately 7 hours to create.

The Wick

The braided wick is made from 100% Italian cotton and contains no lead, ensuring a clean burn without black smoke. Each wick is manually fixed inside the container, perfectly centered to optimize wax burning.

The Wax

100% natural soy wax – PARAFFIN FREE. The wax blend used in Max Benjamin candles comes from 100% natural sources. It's a mix of soy wax and other sustainable plant-based waxes. It’s biodegradable, eco-friendly, and free of animal-derived substances.

Because the wax is a plant-based and natural product, its fragrance release and texture may vary—this is completely normal. The wax is blended with perfume (essential oils) at a specific temperature to create a homogenous liquid, ensuring an even scent release over time. Do not burn the candle for more than 2-3 hours at a time – the melted wax will continue to release fragrance even after the flame is extinguished.

Production Process

First, about 75% of the container’s volume is poured with wax. Once cooled, any air gaps or bubbles are manually smoothed. Then, another 1 cm of wax is poured on top and the candle is again cooled before packaging.

About the Brand

Max Benjamin is owned by siblings Orla, Mark, and David Van den Bergh from Enniskerry, County Wicklow. Named after Orla’s twin sons, Max and Ben, the company has been producing natural, handmade candles since the 1990s.

Max Benjamin’s unique fragrance collections are loved worldwide for their contemporary design, craftsmanship, and use of natural ingredients. Today, the Van den Bergh family continues to take people on a journey of exploration and expression through scent.

Founder Orla Van den Bergh learned the art of candle making in America, where she discovered the complexity of creating high-quality candles. Her skill in blending various waxes and essential oils came naturally, and she continues to use this talent today. Upon returning to Ireland, she brought with her the secrets she learned abroad to create refined candles that have become more popular than she ever imagined.
