Wick

The braided wick is made from 100% Italian cotton and is lead-free for a clean burn without black smoke. Each wick is manually placed in the container, precisely centered with a metal base to optimize wax burning.

Wax

100% natural soy wax – PARAFFIN FREE

The wax blend used for Max Benjamin candles is entirely plant-based, composed of soy and other reusable vegetable waxes. It contains no paraffin, is biodegradable, and eco-friendly. It burns slowly and cleanly, with no soot and no animal-derived ingredients. Because it’s made from natural materials, variations in scent and texture are completely normal.

The wax is blended with essential oils at a controlled temperature to form a homogeneous liquid, ensuring a consistent fragrance diffusion over time. Do not burn the candle for more than 2–3 hours at once—melted wax will continue to release fragrance even after extinguishing the flame.

Manufacturing Process

First, about 75% of the container is filled with wax. After cooling, any air bubbles or gaps are smoothed out manually. Then, another 1 cm of wax is poured on top and cooled again before packaging.

About the Brand

Max Benjamin is owned by siblings Orla, Mark, and David Van den Bergh in Enniskerry, County Wicklow. Named after Orla’s twin sons, Max and Ben, the company began producing natural, hand-poured candles in the 1990s.

Renowned globally for their contemporary design, expert craftsmanship, and use of natural ingredients, Max Benjamin's unique fragrance collections take people on a journey of exploration and self-expression through scent.

Founder Orla Van den Bergh learned candle-making in the U.S., where she discovered the complexity of crafting high-quality candles. Upon returning to Ireland, she brought her knowledge back and began producing refined candles—thus the Max Benjamin story began.

• For an even burn, allow the melted wax to reach the edges of the container.
• Do not touch the glass while the candle is lit. Burn for no more than 2–3 hours at a time.

• Do not move the candle while it is burning.
