For example, the Seul Monde scented candle is poured into a handmade porcelain container adorned with graphic patterns inspired by the tapestries, ceramic tiles, and carved wood of the Antwerp home belonging to Max and Ben’s grandfather. Its fragrance evokes the charm of vintage cologne.

The Sahara scented candle releases a lightly spicy aroma. Bold bergamot notes blend with hints of frankincense, nutmeg, and clove, all resting on a base of amber, vanilla, and patchouli—enlivening your space like a fragrant desert morning breeze. The porcelain holder is decorated with luxurious gold graphic patterns.

Max Benjamin candles are crafted to create the perfect atmosphere. Made from a blend of multiple natural waxes and Italian cotton wicks, the candles are scented with the finest essential oils. The ideal fragrance combination for every room and every mood.

The Wick

The braided wick is made from 100% Italian cotton and contains no lead, ensuring a clean, smoke-free burn. Each wick is manually placed and centered in the container to optimize wax burning.

The Wax

The wax used in Max Benjamin candles is 100% natural soy-based, with no paraffin. It comes from plant-based, renewable sources and is completely biodegradable and eco-friendly. Unlike paraffin wax, it burns slowly and cleanly, producing no soot. It contains no animal-derived substances.

As the wax is a natural product, variations in fragrance release and texture may occur — this is completely normal. The wax is blended with fragrance oils at a specific temperature to create a uniform mixture, allowing consistent scent diffusion over time.

To prolong your candle’s life and optimize fragrance diffusion, do not burn it for more than 2–3 hours at a time. The melted wax will continue to release scent even after the flame is extinguished.

Production Process

The process begins by pouring about 75% of the container’s capacity, allowing the candle to cool. Any air pockets or irregularities are manually smoothed. A final layer of about 1 cm of wax is then poured, and the candle is again left to cool before packaging.

About the Brand

Max Benjamin is a family-owned brand led by Orla, Mark, and David Van den Bergh from Enniskerry, County Wicklow, Ireland. Named after Orla’s twin sons, Max and Ben, the company has been producing handmade natural candles since the 1990s.

Max Benjamin’s unique fragrance collections are loved worldwide for their contemporary design, craftsmanship, and use of natural ingredients. The Van den Bergh family continues to take people on a journey of self-expression and discovery through scent.
