About the Brand
Max Benjamin is owned by siblings Orla, Mark, and David Van den Bergh from Enniskerry, County Wicklow. Named after Orla’s twins, Max and Ben, the company began handcrafting natural candles in the 1990s.
Max Benjamin’s unique fragrance collections are celebrated worldwide for their contemporary design, expert craftsmanship, and use of natural ingredients. Today, the Van den Bergh family continues to take people on a journey of exploration and self-expression through scent.
Orla Van den Bergh, the company’s founder, learned the art of candle making in America, where she discovered the complexity of creating high-quality candles. Her skill in blending different waxes and essential oils came naturally, and she still uses this talent today.
Upon returning to Ireland, Orla brought back the secrets she had learned, using them to create refined candles that became more popular than she could have ever imagined. And so, the Max Benjamin story began.
