Fragrance

Max Benjamin uses only the finest essential oils, most of which are natural. These oils are extracted from raw materials (e.g., natural lavender from Provence). The glycerin-based, alcohol-free formula ensures slower scent release. The diffusion duration is up to four times longer than alcohol-based diffusers.

Manufacturing Process

The fragrance oils are manually mixed with the glycerin base and left to settle. Once ready, master artisans hand-pour each blend into elegantly designed bottles.

The Reeds are made from cotton fiber and diffuse from both the sides and the top, eliminating the need to flip them as often as rattan reeds, since they don't dry out as quickly.

Usage

It is recommended to use all the reeds for maximum diffusion. However, scent strength can be adjusted by removing one or more reeds.

Instructions for Use

Simply unscrew the decorative collar and remove the cap.
Reattach the collar and insert the reeds into the fragrance oil. The oil will slowly travel up the reeds and begin to diffuse the scent. It takes about 24 hours for the fragrance to reach the top of the reeds. The scent should last up to 2.5 months.

Never set the reeds on fire.
Always wash your hands thoroughly after handling the oils.
If oil spills on furniture, clean it immediately as it may cause staining.

Max Benjamin is owned by siblings Orla, Mark, and David Van den Bergh from Enniskerry, County Wicklow. Named after Orla’s twin sons, Max and Ben, the company began making natural, hand-poured candles in the 1990s.

Max Benjamin’s unique fragrance collections are internationally recognized for their contemporary design, expert craftsmanship, and use of natural ingredients. Today, the Van den Bergh family continues to guide people on a journey of exploration and expression through scent.

Founder Orla Van den Bergh learned candle-making in the United States, where she discovered the intricacies of creating high-quality candles. Her ability to blend various waxes and essential oils came naturally and remains integral to the brand today.

After returning to Ireland, Orla brought with her the secrets she learned abroad, using them to create refined candles that quickly grew in popularity—thus beginning the Max Benjamin story.
