The Italian Apothecary fragrance is inspired by exploring the ancient streets of Florence. Comforting spicy top notes, with a heart of musk, patchouli, and cloves, lead to a woody base of amber and sandalwood.

The Fragrance

Max Benjamin uses the highest quality essential oils, mostly natural. Natural oils are extracted from raw materials (e.g., natural lavender from Provence). The glycerin-based, alcohol-free formula ensures slower emission. The diffusion duration is four times longer than alcohol-based diffusers.

Manufacturing Process

The fragrance oils are mixed by hand with the glycerin base and then left to settle. When ready, master artisans hand-pour each blend into elegantly designed bottles.

The Sticks are made from cotton fiber, which diffuses from the sides as well as the top, so they do not need to be turned like rattan sticks, as they do not dry out as quickly.

Usage

It is recommended to use all the sticks for maximum diffusion, but the strength of the fragrance can be controlled by removing one or more sticks.

Instructions for Use

Simply unscrew the decorative collar and remove the stopper.
Screw the decorative collar back on and place the sticks in the bottle with the scented oil. The oil will slowly rise through the sticks and begin to diffuse the fragrance. It takes about 24 hours for the scent to reach the top of the sticks. The fragrance should last up to 2.5 months.

Never set the sticks on fire.
After coming into contact with the oils, always wash your hands thoroughly.
If oils spill on furniture, clean immediately as they may stain the furniture.

About the Brand

Max Benjamin is owned by siblings Orla, Mark, and David Van den Bergh from Enniskerry, County Wicklow. Named after Orla's twins, Max and Ben, the company began producing natural, handmade candles back in the '90s.

Max Benjamin's unique fragrance collections are appreciated worldwide for their contemporary design, craftsmanship, and use of natural ingredients. Today, the Van den Bergh family continues to take people on a journey of exploration and expression through fragrances.

Orla Van den Bergh, the company's founder, learned how to make candles in America, where she discovered the complexity of creating high-quality candles. The skill of blending various types of wax and essential oils came naturally to Orla, and she continues to use this talent today.

Upon returning to Ireland, Orla brought back the secrets she discovered, using them to produce refined candles that became more popular than she could have ever imagined. And so began the story of Max Benjamin.
