Through the Boat collection of introspection, Bertil Vallien delves into the existential, filling the works with symbolic messages. His images trigger the thought processes of viewers. Vertical Journey is one of the most detailed boats created by Bertil Vallien. Cast in transparent glass, the sculpture features a hand-painted head floating above a globe surrounded by colors and stylized copper figures. The sculpture is set on a black wooden base - Hand-signed "Artist Collection 2020."
Vallien is one of the world's foremost glass designers and was honored with the "Visionaries Award Museum of Art and Design" in New York, 2001. He received an honorary doctorate from Vaxjo University (Linnaeus University).
