Sculpture Boats Drifter by Bertil Vallien - KOSTA BODA
Vallien is one of the most important glass designers in the world and was awarded the "Visionaries Award Museum of Art and Design" in New York, 2001. He received an honorary doctorate from Vaxjo University (Linnaeus University).
Through the Introspection Boat collection, Bertil Vallien addresses the existential, filling the works with symbolic messages. His images trigger the viewers' thought processes. It will be a suggestive encounter: like dreams that want to speak to us, that have a presence, yet are still difficult to understand and interpret.
Drifter expresses clarity and space with a figurine that floats freely, embedded within its boat. The sculpture also contains a black-and-white glass spiral, a motif the designer often revisits in his works. This is the latest sculpture in Bertil Vallien's boat series.
Drifter has a glass base that provides stability without the need for additional support. Handcrafted in Sweden, the sculpture is signed Artist Collection 2020.
