The first known reference to this design, known as "biquinhos" (spikes), is from a catalog of the Nova Fa¡brica de Vidros Marinha Grande (New Glass Factory Marinha Grande) - Ivima, 1901. This type of glass, crafted with diamond-like points, was produced in the 19th century using manual cutting techniques.
Later, the set began to be produced using the pressing method, a technique that continues to this day.
It's interesting to note that in the first quarter of the 20th century, it was considered old-fashioned, and today it is so trendy.
